Knox Private Hospital redevelopment unveiled

Knox Private Hospital has officially unveiled its multimillion-dollar redevelopment with a modern three-storeyed extension.

Under national private hospital provider Healthscope, Knox Private Hospital services Melbourne’s east and south-eastern suburbs, as well as regional east Victoria. It provides a range of surgical and medical services, including a 24-hour emergency department, cardiology centre (diagnostics, interventional cardiology, structural heart and cardiothoracic surgery), bariatric, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, coronary care and intensive care unit.

The redevelopment has added two patient wards with ensuite single rooms, an upgraded diagnostic cardiology unit, updated patient admissions area, a main reception area, an expanded pharmacy and a cafe.

“Continuing to invest in improving our hospitals is vital to delivering high-quality care. This redevelopment at Knox will allow us to support more doctors and provide great care for more patients,” Healthscope CEO Greg Horan said.

“This redevelopment means we can care for more patients, allowing the local community to be treated close to home, here in the eastern suburbs,” Knox Private Hospital general manager Suzanne Hall added.

“Our staff and patients are already benefiting from the new facilities, enhancing our patients’ experience.”

Further work is planned for Knox Private Hospital, with additional specialist consulting suites coming later this year, while an upgrade and expansion to its intensive care and coronary care units will be completed early next year.
