Canberra Antenatal Care deploys digital patient pathway
Canberra Antenatal Care is deploying Personify Care’s Digital Patient Pathway with an aim to offer patients a more streamlined and informative experience throughout their pregnancy.
With the new digital platform, patients can access all necessary information and complete essential assessments and consents online, even before their appointments. The tool has been designed to alleviate the administrative burden of traditional paper-based systems.
“This is a game changer for both our patients and our staff,” said Dr Meiri Robertson at Canberra Antenatal Care. “By embracing cutting-edge technology, we’re enhancing the entire antenatal journey, ensuring our patients feel well informed and supported every step of the way.”
With the deployment, administrative tasks are streamlined, allowing staff members to focus on providing quality care and support to expectant parents. This reduction in administrative burden not only improves the overall patient experience but also enables staff to confirm whether patients have accessed vital information promptly.
Moreover, the implementation bolsters patient education, helping them make well-informed decisions about their care. Early detection of potential risks is also facilitated through the system, contributing to enhanced clinical outcomes and peace of mind for patients and their families.
The success of this initiative will be measured through various key performance indicators, including response rates, activity completion rates, percentage of online completed consents, clinical flags raised, and patient feedback statistics and scores. With these metrics in place, Canberra Antenatal Care aims to “continually enhance their services and provide a gold standard of care to all their consumers”.
“We’re continually evolving our pathways and responding to consumer feedback. We are working with an Oscar-winning animator to help with a video about early pregnancy screening [that] will be available in multiple languages to better support our community on their journey,” Robertson said.
