RANZCOG Mourns Tragic Loss of a Colleague in MH17 Disaster
Tuesday, 22 July, 2014
Fellows, members and staff of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) were extremely saddened to hear of the death of their friend and colleague, Liam Davison and his wife Frankie.
College Chief Executive Officer Mr James McAdam said, “Liam has made an enormous contribution to our College over almost eight years.
“He worked closely with College Fellows and his colleagues to pioneer our online learning environment which has been instrumental in providing educational resources and support to our trainees as they progress toward becoming specialist obstetricians and gynaecologists.
“However Liam meant much more to his colleagues than just the work he did for the College. Whether it was joining in discussions about walking trails, cycling, travel, restaurants to try, a good book to read or just completing the newspaper quiz over lunch, he was a highly regarded friend to many people throughout the College.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with their children, Sam and Milly and Liam and Frankie’s extended family at this sad time,” Mr McAdam said.
The College will now look for a permanent way to remember Liam and honour his contribution to RANZCOG.
