The 2015 ASID Annual Scientific Meeting will be held in Auckland at the Rendezvous Hotel from Wednesday 18th to Saturday 21st March 2015. The last time this meeting was held in New Zealand, Aotearoa was Wellington 2006.

The ASID conference is the leading Australasian meeting for adult and paediatric infectious disease and clinical microbiology specialists. The ASM is an ideal opportunity for connecting clinicians, microbiologists and other health professions with a common interest in infectious diseases and provides a friendly forum for the exchange of scientific advances in the prevention, diagnosis and management of clinical infectious diseases.
ASID Aotearoa 2015 meeting themes have been specifically chosen to represent key contemporary infectious diseases issues including staphylococcal and streptococcal infections, respiratory infections, infectious diseases diagnostics and food-borne infections. There will also be a special plenary session on Ebola, to reflect the ongoing crisis in West Africa.
Three visiting speakers – Professor Katherine O’Brien, Professor Vance Fowler and Professor Mark Wilcox – will offer expert global perspectives on our themes. Australasian research and expertise will be highlighted with keynote lectures, proffered papers, symposia and educational workshops. ASID Special Interest Groups will continue to have occasion to come together during the meeting. There will be opportunities to:

  • Access and engage infectious diseases specialists from all over Australia and New Zealand (key decision makers in the area of infectious diseases and microbiology, including department heads, opinion leaders, research program directors, drug committee representatives).

  • Build and improve relationships with infectious diseases specialists and microbiologists.

  • Support the general aims of the infectious diseases and microbiology sector and assist them toward their continuing professional development needs.
