Research indicates that up to one third of patients do not use bedside cabinets finding them inaccessible and too heavy to move and access. Herman Miller Healthcare used this insight to rework the patient overbed table – by adding features that can replace the need for a bedside cabinet completely.
The Oasis Overbed table comes with options of up to three separate patient storage trays striking the balance between convenient storage with space maximisation, comfort and maneuverability. It eliminates a major challenge in healthcare design by providing useful space without overcrowding patients, limiting guests, or inhibiting caregivers. The easily accessible, plainly visible open tray design has dedicated space for patients and caregivers. A raised edge near the column not only contains items, it also allows caregivers to rest a clipboard over the top of small items without disturbing them. Rounded edges and smooth seams make it easy to clean and control infection and casters and a choice of leg options also allow for easy access and reconfiguration. An optional framed vanity mirror with storage is also available.
