Malmet’s WDS Combination Washer-Disinfector unit provides thermal disinfection for a range of reusable medical devices, including bedpans, urine bottles, utensils and bowls, in one compact design. Manufactured in Australia and carrying ARTG certification 232450 to the industry highest Class 11b level, the WDS is claimed to be the only combination washer-disinfector designed to exceed Australian requirements.

This large-capacity washer-disinfector is used across high-activity hospital wards, residential aged-care facilities and surgical units. Tested to A0600 level disinfection, it is suitable for facilities requiring compliance with AS/NZS 4187:2014 as relevant to the NSQHS Preventing and Controlling Healthcare-Associated Infection Standard 3.

The WDS features hands-free operation with a clear graphics panel for cycle selection. An array of sensors maintain the factory set door obstruction feature, as well as detecting whether the correct washing rack and cycle selection are in place. The in-built steam generator allows the unit to function independent of a hot water system, with no venting required. All programs include a detergent wash cycle which has been microbiologically tested by an independent NATA-certified laboratory.
